A fire broke out at the Grande Motel on North Chadbourne this evening.
Fire crews were called out early this evening.
A witness said that they believe the fire started in a room where a couple from Hondo, Texas, were staying. They had just come back from visiting relatives in San Angelo when they walked into the door, only to see flames and smoke in their room. They rushed out quickly, and their belongings were destroyed.
The San Angelo Fire Department responded with multiple trucks and ambulances.
Fortunately it does not appear at this time that anyone was hurt, though property damage to the hotel and persons' belongings were significant.
