Rambelles Soccer Notches First Conference Win of 2025

Goals from Graycen Rasmussen and Carley Martinez led the Rambelles to their first Lone Star Conference victory over Oklahoma Christian Saturday afternoon.
The Rambelles improve to 2-2-4 overall and 1-1-2 in LSC play with the victory.
Oklahoma Christian's Caid Jefferson would record the first shot of the contest, which would be saved by Melyna Martinez.
Graycen Rasmussen scored the first goal of the match for the Rambelles and her first goal of the season to give the Rambelles the lead in the 12th minute. Rasmussen would head the goal in after a header assist from Abby James off a corner kick taken by Sanai Stewart.
The Rambelles backline locked down the Eagles offense as they would not record a shot for over 30 minutes of action.
The San Angelo Native Carley Martinez would find the back of the net for the first goal of her career. Eleanor Lock would send a through pass to the right side of the field, a diving keeper would deflect the ball, but it would fortunately find the right foot of Martinez where she would send it over the defense and give the Rambelles a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Rambelles parked the bus in the second half as they would look to continue to lock down the Eagles offense and hold on for their first LSC win of the 2025 season.
ASU would outshoot the Eagles 13-9, but the Eagles would have more shots on target with five shots compared to the four of the Rambelles.
Melyna Martinez would save all five shots compared to the Eagles keeper, Breanna Wooten, who could only record two saves on the day.

With the Shutout Martinez would record her third clean sheet of the year.
The Belles would record their 11th yellow card of the season.

From Head Coach Travis McCorkle:

"We've been playing well. We had a good first half, and then we've let our foot off the gas and let teams back in games. Today was not that. We showed heart and intelligence. We were much improved in our aerial game. OCU has some dangerous players and a direct approach that works for them. We earned the shutout today as a team. Great to win on the road. Now we go home, take care of our body and mind to be ready to continue our upward momentum.
