The City of Abilene bid farewell to its interim City Manager today after many years of service to the city.
Mindy Patterson is the first woman Deputy City Manager in Abilene. She was named interim City Manager so she could guide the city through the transition between city managers.
Patterson started as an accountant for the city and made her way to Abilene City Manager after Robert Hanna retired, and remained there while the city looked for his replacement.
“I’m a finance person at heart, but I have had immense joy in moving to admin to see how everything works, so thank you for allowing us to serve our city and see ya,” Patterson shared.
Patterson was with the city for more than 30 years. She was born and raised in Abilene.
