President Trump: NATO Should Shoot Down Encroaching Russian Jets

During a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, U.S. President Donald J. Trump said that NATO countries should shoot down Russian fighters and bombers that violate NATO airspace.

Trump made his remarks in response to a question by a reporter who asked if he believed that NATO countries have the right to down Russian jet in their airspace.

Trump respnded with three words, "Yes, I do."

Trump later took issue with the United Nations, questioning its purpose and saying that the international organization was being used to attack Western nations and democratic values, being used by nations such as China, Iran, Russia and North Korea to block the United States and other nations' goals for a free and democratic world.
