The Federal Aviation Administration said that issues with telecom and outdated equipment led to delays and cancellations at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport this week.
The FAA confirmed Saturday that operations at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field have returned to normal levels following widespread flight disruptions that began Friday afternoon.
Love Field officials said Saturday morning that the FAA was still reporting “intermittent outages” and some resulting delays, though flights at the airport were operating normally.

The issue, initially traced to two cut fiber optic cables, knocked out both the primary and backup data pathways for the FAA’s radars, radio frequencies, and computer systems in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to a letter sent to employees from American Airlines.
